Jay Dane first began coaching soccer while at the University of Derby back in his native U.K. between 1997-2000.

After returning to his home town of London, Jay began coaching local youth soccer teams and youth centers before returning to Derby to take up a position with Derby County FC, who were then in the English Premier League.

Working in their Academy, Jay worked with various age groups as well as worked in the club’s football in the community scheme, grassroots and vacation programs.

In 2005 Jay moved to Northern New England and began working with Coastal SC,
Brunswick, Maine. In 4 and a half years at the club Jay coached two State Cup winning teams, that both went onto represent Maine at the 2008 region 1 tournament, with his U18’s being ranked as high as 4th in the nation in June 2008.

Coastal SC merged with Seacoast United soccer club in 2009, who are also members of the US National Academy Development league. Jay was responsible for the whole youth program at Seacoast United Maine, which included U12-U6 boys and girls teams, their curriculum, and structure.

As part of Jay’s continued development he has most recently undergone 4 weeks of work at Birmingham City FC, again, part of the prestigious English Premier League.  Jay ran sessions for various groups upon request of the Academy Director, as well as shadowed senior staff members, U18 and Reserve teams at the Club.

Jay moved to Dallas in January 2010 with his wife and young daughter.

Jay captained the University of Derby 1st team 1997-2000 and played for Middlesex County FA as a U15

Jay Currently holds his UEFA B part 1, and is taking his Level 3 coaching certificate back in England in FEB 2011
